Well - things are getting better again. My human-dad isn't so sad anymore. He is still sad sometimes, but we are having some good times too. The first week after Uncle Parker left my human-dad hardly wanted to see me. But I kept pushing my way in. First he would push me away, then he would grab me and hug me real tight and I would lick his face. Then his eyes would drip water some more, so I would lick it off. I can tell this is hard for him. But the only thing I can do is go to him and wait. Uncle Parker said my human-dad would teach me what I needed to know. So far I just don't get it. But I will keep trying, cause I promised Uncle Parker that I would.
Today was very hard. My human-dad came home early today. Daisy and I loaded up in the Magic Legs with our humans. We went for a ride to visit that Dr. Julie human again. When we got there the first thing we did was get weighed. I am now 37 pounds. I sure am a big boy! I am still just a GOOD-Dane. But I will be GREAT in just 83 more pounds! Then a nice human-lady took us to a room to wait for Dr. Julie. When we got in the room I felt like Uncle Parker was there. I looked around, but I couldn't see or smell him. But I could feel he was there somehow. I looked at my human-dad, and he was staring at a spot on the floor, and there was water coming from his eyes again. Lots of water. And then I understood. This room was the last place Uncle Parker was before he left my human-dad forever. It hurt me to see my human-dad so sad again. And the worst of it was that our human-mom left us in that room and didn't even think of what it meant to my human-dad. She came back, and brought Dr. Julie with her. Dr. Julie looked at me and Daisy. She poked something up our butts too. I didn't like it, but then we got some yummy treats, so it wasn't so bad.
Then we got a surprise! RADAR!!!! Radar is living with Dr. Julie. I was so happy that I barked and barked. Daisy was barking too, and so was Radar. We sniffed each other, and wagged our tails so hard our butts were wiggling. Radar has his own human-mom - Dr. Julie. Radar said he belongs to a human-dad named Rusty. He said Rusty had a dog that had to go away just like Uncle Parker, and Radar is Rusty's good special new dog. So this is starting to make more sense to me now. Maybe Echo and Sky have a nice home where they are good special new dogs for someone who needed a new dog too. I think that maybe all dogs have a special job - to live with humans and try to make their lives happy. That is what Parker did for my human-dad. And that is my job now. Daisy has our human-mom. Radar has his human-Rusty. We have to work together with our humans to make a good life. But if we try hard, and we get a good human, life can be really really good. I remembered the looks Uncle Parker and my human-dad shared. I need to learn how to do that. I will start trying even harder today.
